a walk in grandpa's orchard (please excuse the tacky blogging, I need lots of practice)

Dan and I rode to grandpas house, got to visit which was long overdue, we both enjoy his real life adventures that she shares with us. I went and took a walk in his orchard which is full or many different types of apples and pears, it was very peaceful, looking at all the apples. Can be overwhelming of how much one tree can bear!

I scared the geese while walking towards the pond, it was worth the picture!

The fruit just hangs from the tree it is so loaded

San Juan Islands July 08

What you see is what you get. Dan bought his hog early this summer and at first I was apprehensive about riding with him, I didn't want to be a "biker chic". Well it really doesn't have to be so stereotypical. It is so different being on a bike, your senses are so aware; you smell everything, see everything so much clearer. It is really fun! Especially going to the San Juan islands and touring it was a blast, and because we went with our friends Heath and Brady, we had an agreement with the guys that we would stop to see the "girly things" because they got to ride their bikes:)

This is a old church that has been remodeled several times I'm sure it is on Friday Harbor it was built in 1882. Beside it is a cemetery that has lots of history in it. It was neat to walk around and read the dates, etc.

Here is the four of us on Friday Harbor at a Lavender Festival. It was fun, and we even tried lavender ice tea!

Tulips fields April 08

The vibrant colors were truly amazing. It was my first year even though we have lived 20 min from the fields for almost 3 years. I was missing out on such beauty, will make sure to make it an annual event.

My mom came with me and she too was in awe over the vibrant colors. It has been fun sharing such wonderful things together.

Turning back the clock to April in Kauii

Hey there everyone, Dan is finally teaching me how to post. So we are going back to April, to share with you a summary of our vacation in Kauii. We were privileged to go with Dan's folks, sisters, and brother and their spouses with children, as well as my mom. Kauii is very relaxing especially listening to the waves come in.

Thought you all would like some facts; a banana tree only produces a cluster of bananas once, and then they chop the tree down.
These bananas were at a local fruit stand. I thought it was neat seeing them still on the stalk.

One day the parents and us, hopped on an inter-island flight to visit Pearl Harbor. It was a sobering experience to visit the Arizona, yes it is true, oil is still coming out of the vessel. We also got to go inside the U.S.S Bowfin, which sunk more weight then the Japanese sunk at Pear Harbor.

Dan went boogie boarding, I tried but it is very hard to get out to the waves without getting washed up, the surf is very powerful. So I decided to catch the rays instead.

The folks were troopers they tried to boogie board, dad got out in the surf, but mom decided like me that the sun rays were much easier to catch!

Dinner and a motorcycle ride!

Jeanne and I fired up the Wide and went to Smokey Point for a taste of Thialand this evenin'. Planned on checking out Coldstone but the yellow curry took up all available space and I went in a t-shirt so more cold wasn't looking to good! Had us a quick photo shoot for some bloggin' material before we went. The photos are for Danl's blog but this one was too cute not to pass on.
Night all!

Hello, Hello!

Just a quick post to say that we are joining the blogasphere as a family not just with the male hormone, special interest laced posts at Danl's blog. The elusive Mrs. Dan'l (The Boss) will be present and accounted for here. She'll probably do most of the posting once I show her how easy it is! So for those who aren't interested in the opinionated blatherings posted up at Danl's but prefer family news here is your spot. Mothers, Grandmothers, female family friends this is the place to check for all the news that us guys never get around to remembering. Until later...
